From our first family ski holiday to Austria when I was
11, I was hooked!
As a freelance presenter in the UK, I am able to balance my time during the winter season between work at home in the UK and frequent trips out to the snow, either teaching skiing and coaching racing as a BASI qualified ISIA instructor, or just skiing for myself.
Previously I have spent full seasons in both the Swiss and French Alps and numerous weeks in The Aosta Valley, Italy.
Since 2021 I have been working as a race coach with UNiQ Snowsports who specialise in alpine race coaching for aspiring racers from U10/U12 up to FIS Level. This gives me a great amount of enjoyment throughout the year on the numerous training camps in the Alps, Norway and indoor ski centres, drawing on my skills as a former PE teacher working with secondary school aged kids.
In 2019/20 I was based over the peak teaching weeks in Zermatt, Switzerland, teaching for Matterhorn Diamonds Ski School, which was a fantastic experience as not only did I meet some really great people, but because Zermatt is such an iconic and picturesque place.
I also worked during that season, on logging enough ski touring experience to be assessed for and pass my European Mountain Safety exam, a module within the BASI system towards the level 4 ISTD qualification. The assessment that took place in La Grave was a real highlight as the terrain and conditions were epic !
I have also worked in recent seasons for Ski2 Ski School in Champoluc and Interski in Pila, both mostly teaching children which is something I absolutely love doing !
In 2002 I worked as an assistant coach at The British Ski Academy in Les Houches, France, where I got to learn more about ski racing, whilst assisting in the coaching of some of the UK’s top junior hopefuls at the time.
I’ve have had a long involvement with Snow and Rock, the UK’s largest independent ski retailer, working at The Daily Mail Ski Show in London as a ski salesman as far back as 1998 and 1999. And from 2002 as a ski model, for 13 consecutive annual winter sports catalogues, skiing for their photoshoots that would take place in Verbier, Obergurgl, and Saas-Fe. I then got the call again in 2017 for their shoot in Champoluc, Italy.
In 2015/16 I was asked by The Tirol and The Ski Club of Great Britain to present a series of travel guide videos about this iconic part of Austria. The Locals Guide Series was a great success and we returned in subsequent seasons to update the series with more resorts and also added Summer Alpine Guide series in 2018.
I'm always looking to partner with brands and resorts for similar ventures, so if you have something coming up that you think I can help you with, please get in touch.
As a brand ambassador, I'm supported by Rossignol through their UK distributor AMG Outdoor.

The Locals Guide Series of resort guide videos that I presented for The Tirol and The Ski Club of Great Britain, filmed over a couple of winter seasons were excellent and continue to get watched over and over on YouTube.
The trailer featured here was from an epic two days in The Zugspitz Arena ski area where we got beyond lucky with the snow conditions, weather and our awesome local guide Matej, who knew all the spots and was a Jedi Master on his snowboard !
